Katie – Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician

Katie was born and raised here in Utah. As a child, she developed a love for animals and knew she wanted to work with them as an adult. During high school, she achieved her Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Assistant certifications and began working with disabled youth. She did this several years until having a child of her own. She then began working at a daycare facility that allowed her to raise her son while attending Broadview University. She became licensed as a veterinary technician and passed her Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) in 2016. While diligently studying, she performed an externship at Mountain West Animal Hospital. Due to her outstanding performance at our facility, she was hired and has been with us since 2018. In her free time, Katie avidly spends time outdoors with her son doing a plethora of activities: paddle-boarding, hiking, hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. She also enjoys watching movies at home with her four pets – Grizz the German Shepherd, Bandit the Yorkshire Terrier, Jake the cat that acts more like a dog, and her “tripod” calico cat named Confetti.
